Burr inspection: compare before and after method records
A residual burr record can change when the viewing direction, fixture or reporting rule changes. Compare the actual before-and-after method notes before discussing whether a burr was removed.
Compare the actual method records
Enter your actual records. No method, numeric value or acceptance criterion is prefilled. Each field accepts 1–240 visible characters.
Did the inspection return to the same burr feature?
Use the feature identity to keep the same edge or hole in the comparison. A maximum reading, one profile value and a visual decision describe different reporting rules. The fields below preserve those distinctions as written by the inspector.
The feature identity and drawing reference are supplied by you. A text match is an organizing aid; it cannot prove that a document is current, a sample is traceable or an instrument was used correctly.
Source scope and the measurement decision
The manufacturer measurement-card guide separates burr, edge and texture method records. This tool uses those categories without adopting universal limits or instrument settings.
Keep actual readings, units, uncertainty, sampling evidence and the agreed decision rule in the inspection report. This comparison handles descriptions only. It cannot establish burr removal, preserved edge geometry, roughness compliance or production release.
Review differences with the measurement owner before interpreting a change. Correcting a spelling difference is different from changing the instrument, direction, datum or reporting method. Neither action changes the underlying sample evidence.
Questions about burr method records
What does this burr inspection comparison check?
It requires the current feature, reference and both sets of method fields. It compares exact trimmed text for each field and lists differences. It does not verify the entered documents or measurements.
Does matching text approve a finishing result?
No. Matching descriptions do not prove that the instrument, settings or inspection location were actually the same. The measurement owner must review the evidence and apply the agreed drawing criterion.
What happens when a method field changes?
The export retains both descriptions and flags that field for review. It does not calculate a correction or establish a correlation between the two methods.
Can I export an incomplete record?
Every displayed field must contain 1–240 visible characters. Missing fields and control characters stop comparison and download. An edited form is read again when you compare or download.
